Welded joints
This specialised site service is undertaken by ASSET International Limited. Extrusion welded joints provide 100% water tightness and are completed using equipment specifically designed and built for the purpose.
Extrusion welded joints have the added advantage of being as strong as the pipe itself and are leak free. This eliminates potential leak points every 2m - 6m commonly found with concrete, corrugated steel and ductile iron pipe. The joints also compensate for poor ground conditions ensuring 100% water tightness.
All welders are trained in-house at ASSET and all possess 'confined spaces' training certificates to water authority standards.

Flex-Seal couplings
Flex-Seal Couplings Limited have developed a coupling specifically for WEHOLITE which has WRc approval and complies with BS EN : 1277.
Flex-seal WRc approval certification
Flex-Seal Couplings are normally suitable for below ground use providing a design life in excess of 100 years.
Flat Bands
Where internal welding is used, Flat bands (or 'Hugger' bands) are used to align the pipes at a joint prior to welding. They are manufactured from plastic coated mild steel and are also suitable for culverts and other applications where a watertight joint is not required.
