WEHOLITE HDPE pipe is manufactured under licence from KWH Pipes Ltd. of Finland, at their manufacturing facility in Newport.
Life of WEHOLITE
HDPE is a very durable material with a long history of use for water and gas pipelines amongst many other applications.
Long
term studies over two years have so far shown no brittle behaviour for
HDPE 80 material (production material for ASSET). On the basis of these
results a minimum service life over 100 years at operating temperatures
of 20˚c to 40˚c can be predicted from pipes made of this material.
Bearing
in mind that the temperature of a buried pipe is around 4˚c, the design
life of the pipe can be easily assumed to be over 120 years.
WEHOLITE
pipes are suitable for gravity and low pressure applications. The
corrosive and abrasion resistant properties of HDPE provides a very
durable pipe.
WEHOLITE provides all the technical advantages of
polyethylene solid wall pipes, with the added benefit of being a
lighter product for ease of installation. It is supplied and delivered
with material test certificates stating the MFI and Density of the
product.
